Sprent Primary School is situated in a rural setting 14 kilometres south of Ulverstone. Approximately 40 children attend the school, with the majority travelling to and from the school by bus from surrounding areas. Buses are available from the Ulverstone Fire Station.

The school is set in large, spacious rural grounds. Over the past few years, we have made many improvements to the indoor learning environment, providing modern and well-equipped learning spaces for our students. We have a school farm adjoining our school which consists of approximately 30 acres. We visit and host other small schools for events through-out the year to provide wider social experiences for our students.

Our motto is ‘Learning and Caring’ and combined with our department values of Respect, Growth, Courage, Connection and Responsibility these guide our interactions with each other in all aspects of our time at school.

Student learning adheres to the Australian Curriculum, as well as a wide variety of other curriculum and learning experiences with specialist teachers. These include Physical Education, Music, Visual Art, Auslan and Food & Fibre. Our students’ learning program is based on the needs and capabilities of each individual. Small class sizes with excellent staff to student ratios, further support them to work to their best.

In recent years we have focussed on building strong and reciprocal relationships with families, to partner in their child’s learning. This has resulted in improved attendance and engagement in all aspects of learning including social, emotional and academic.
